At CES 2014 there were a lot of booths from high tech medical device companies hawking products that promised to monitor consumers health and warn them about potential medical issues. This is a continuation of the "quantified self" trend where consumers measure every aspect of their lives, including their biology. A lot of startups are jumping on this trend. But their product development, says some critics, does not always include proper care to make sure that the biological information being captured by the user stays only with the user.
